JOURNAL ENTRY NO. 2

14th JUNE 2007

At the airport...... finally! Thanks to the valiant efforts of friends and family who helped us with last minute chores, and impressive precision driving through the Brisbane traffic, we managed to make it on time...... just!

We stagger exhausted on board, somehow find our seats, sit, and now start to really relax...... no going back...... not from here anyway. Two hours later we are in Bangkok, or was it nine, we can't remember? We land in Bangkok, check the bikes into storage and wonder what the heck we're going to do for 24 hours...... check out Bangkok...... THAT'S WHAT!!!!

Leaving the golden shores of Oz

So we sat and made an attempt to relax, drinking coffee and beer with our supporters as the farewell rapidly approached. Waiting for our call seemed like an eternity and then there it was...... flight to Bangkok, Thailand. Soon enough we were sitting in the departure lounge ready to board.

With said friends and family looking on in anticipation, all four of our massive cargo laiden boxes were put through the usual weigh in procedure...... 40 kilograms over weight!!! With some help from Andrew our check-in attendant, $720 later and a lot of stressing about the budget, our home, kitchen, bathroom, office and transport for 4/5 months disappeared into the loading dock and we could relax, YES...... RELAX...... SOMEWHAT ANYWAY.
